Marijuana Use & Adolescent Brain Development Training
As a result of this training, participants will gain new insight into the negative physical and mental health effects of marijuana on the developing adolescent brain, discuss common misconceptions about marijuana use, and differentiate between recreational marijuana use versus problematic use in adolescents.
Presenter: Whitney Chrisman, LIMHP, LADC
Whitney Chrisman is a Licensed Independent Mental Health Practitioner and Licensed Alcohol and Drug Counselor. Whitney has been practicing therapy for 5 years and has worked primarily with adolescents and young adults. She has previous experience working in a residential substance use treatment setting and is currently working at Jenda Family Services in their Outpatient Clinic. Whitney has been trained in several clinical areas including substance use, trauma and human trafficking and enjoys implementing a variety of treatment approaches including DBT, CBT, narrative, and art therapy.
