Mission

Provide effective prevention education for schools, families and communities, equipping schools with early intervention tools for students with behavioral health concerns so they may achieve healthy, productive lives.

  • Tami Rembolt, LCSW, East High School

"Because we have a SCIP team in our building, our staff feel comforted knowing they don’t have to carry student concerns alone—we have a place to confidentially share concerns, and can then offer students and families options for support."

  • Lisa Halvorsen, Pound Middle School

"I have witnessed great success when students and their families utilize the services that are offered through the SCIP program. Without this partnership, students may not get the support they need to improve their mental health or stop addictive behaviors like Vaping."

  • Chris Jacobsen, St. Teresa Catholic School

"What I love most about SCIP is the brainstorming as a team on how to help a student, and when you are "stuck" and not sure what direction to go, you can use a SCIP referral and leave it to the professionals!"

  • Angie Cobelens, Waverly Public Schools

SCIP has been a valuable resource for our district, providing an effective way to support students through early intervention.  We have built SCIP into our Tier 2 supports and use the referral form to gather key information on students, helping our team identify specific areas to target for support and intervention.
