Drugs of abuse are ever fluctuating and awareness of prevailing trends is of crucial importance to professionals in law enforcement, substance use prevention and addictions treatment. This training is specifically designed for mental health professionals treating criminal justice clients for substance use disorders. Attendees will learn to recognize the signs, symptoms and brain chemistry of different drugs; criminogenic needs, risk factors and behaviors involved and the laws that cover sales and use.

6 hours approved for LADC CEUs through the Division of Public Health—Licensure Unit #18.023
6 hours approved for clinicians on the Supreme Court of Nebraska, Office of Probation Administration's Registered Service Providers List.
This program may also meet the criteria of an approved continuing education program for certified social workers, certified master social workers, or licensed mental health practitioners for 6 contact hours. Other healthcare professionals may use their certificate of attendance to claim continuing education hours through their certifying body.
