 ing is an assumed starting point and the workshop will focus on intermedia
 te skills and exercises to maximize the use of MI. A focus of the importan
 ce of eliciting change talk and responding to client’s struggle to maintai
 n their point of view.\n\nThis intensive 1-day training is designed to dee
 pen behavioral health practitioner’s ability to use this evidence based cl
 inical method to enhance change behaviors and outcomes. This course is app
 ropriate for behavioral health\, social workers\, criminal justice\, healt
 h practitioners\, and social work. \n\nPresenter: Kate Speck\, PhD\, MAC\,
  LADC\nKate has over 40 years’ licensed experience in addictions with a Ma
 ster of Addictions and an MA in Adult Education.  She is on call Senior Re
 search Manager at the UNL Public Policy Center\, and teaches graduate cour
 ses in addictions. She has a strong background in prevention and treatment
  settings\, substance abuse prevention/intervention\, addiction in familie
 s\, pregnant and parenting women\, and training and education. She is a me
 mber of MINT (International Motivational Interviewing Network of Trainers)
  since 2000\, and has provided training and technical assistance nationall
 y in the use of Motivational Interviewing. She is also a Master Trainer fo
 r Clinical Supervision\, Suicide Prevention\, and Disaster Behavioral Heal
 th.
