X-WR-CALDESC:Objectives:\nThis is a four hour workshop that is designed for
  behavioral health practitioners to enhance the application of ethical dec
 ision-making in practice. This will be an interactive discussion based on 
 seminar settings\, intended to appraise ethical knowledge and to critique 
 personal and professional boundaries\, values and practices. Upon completi
 on of this training\, the participant will be able: To determine personal 
 values that are related to ethical boundaries\; Be able to review two comm
 on myths that surround ethical practice\; Define ethical behavior in light
  of technological advances\; and Be able to identify a model that is usefu
 l for problem solving ethical dilemmas. \n\nThis training will be done by 
 Dr. Kate Speck\, PhD.\, MAC\, LADC. Kate earned her Masters of Arts in Adu
 lt and Continuing Education from the University of Nebraska in 1995. She e
 arned her Doctorate degree for Community and Human Resources from the Univ
 ersity of Nebraska in 2002. She is a certified Alcohol and Drug counselor\
 , and addiction counselor since 2004\, but has various other certification
 s surrounding the topic of addictions since 1984. She has 42 years of expe
 rience working in the field of behavioral health.  Over the years  Kate ha
 s gained the title of Master Trainer for clinical supervision\, assessing 
 and managing suicide risk\, ethics\, and disaster psychological first aid.
  She is also a member of IMINT since 2000 for training in Motivational Int
 erviewing. She has experience in residential\, outpatient\, and EAP settin
 gs as well as workforce development. Kate is an experienced educator and h
 as trained in academic and community settings. She has presented at numero
 us conferences and delivered presentations and workshops in partnership wi
 th agencies and organizations. From 1997-2020\, Kate was an adjunct facult
 y for Doane University Master of Arts in Counseling\, Psychology\, Theory 
 and Master level ethics and addiction courses. Kate was a senior research 
 manager for the University of Nebraska Policy Center from 2007-2020. \n\n
