 tion\, post-vention\, early intervention\, and protective factors. Suicide
  impacts youth and families of all backgrounds. Suicide continues to impac
 t Nebraska communities at concerning rates. We will discuss the data to ha
 ve a better understanding of the need for more education and training arou
 nd prevention and early intervention. It is extremely important for everyo
 ne to know\, if and when warning signs are identified\, what we can do\, w
 here we can connect for the appropriate help\, how we promote help-seeking
  behaviors\, and how we follow up to ensure our youth are healthy and well
 . This course will cover all of these things and provide each participant 
 more information on important topics and concerns related to suicide\, and
  how they can be most effective in saving a life from suicide. \n\nPartici
 pants will learn local\, state\, and national data on suicide\, learn thei
 r role in suicide prevention\, as well as the role they can encourage othe
 rs to play\, learn warning signs\, risk factors\, and protective factors o
 f suicide\, obtain appropriate language and tools to break down stigma aro
 und mental health and suicide\, create a toolkit of a variety of calming t
 ools and community resources\, and hear from a parent who lost a youth to 
 suicide in order to better understand the need for prevention work with al
 l youth.\n\nPresenter: Julia Hebenstreit\, J.D.\n\nJulia has served as the
  Executive Director at the Kim Foundation since 2011. She serves on numero
 us local\, state\, and national advisory boards and strives to further eff
 orts that that highlight and prioritize increasing access to behavioral he
 alth services\, suicide prevention\, quality mental health care for all\, 
 and stronger opportunities for recovery and connections for those with liv
 ed experience. Julia received her B.S. in Journalism from the University o
